Drollinger’s biggest success story to come out of an exhausting stretch is “Meals on Heels,” which gives people in and around San Francisco the opportunity to order dinner and drinks for delivery or pickup, with a lip-syncing performance by a drag queen or king.

God bless drag queens. First they start a riot that sparked and launched the LGBTQ+ Civil Rights Movement. Then they take to the streets on roller-skates to show what charity is really about. Next they take over reality TV with season after season of fierce fashion and talent competitions. And now in the time of covid, they deliver meals for “Meals on Heels” with a side of drag. How fabulous is that?
The brainchild of San Franciso’s Oasis club owner, D’Arcy Drollinger, the delivery service “was supposed to be a one-time deal, a fun way to give a few of the club’s regular performers who have been out of work since March the chance to earn money. When word got out about the drag on-demand service, so many people called the club asking about when they could request a performance that Drollinger made it a weekly offering.” Patrons pay about $100 for food and service, with a fabulous performance by one of San Francisco’s finest dames in high heels.
And good things don’t end with dessert. To keep us all entertained during self-quarantine, the generous folk at Oasis have posted a treasure trove of live drag show recordings on their YouTube channel, so everyone can enjoy performances like, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Cyberotica, The Rock Musical,” “Golden Girls Live,” and “Hot Trash with D’Arcy Drollinger.” So click on through, and have yourself a dragulous day.
These girls do work hard for their money!
